Roadrunner Staff Emergency Fund
Staff Senate, in collaboration with the offices of Development & Alumni Relations and People Excellence, is pleased to offer the Roadrunner Staff Emergency Fund (RSEF). This fund is intended to provide limited financial assistance to university staff employees that are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of a temporary hardship related to an emergency situation.
Applicants are expected to pursue alternative solutions for addressing their needs before submitting an RSEF application. For instance, assistance with electric bills may be provided through the . A full list of alternative resources can be found below.
How to Apply
The instruction guide below contains an overview of the application process. After reviewing the eligibility requirements on the first page of the , please complete the form and attach the required supporting documents to the application. For questions, please email Staff Senate.
- Step One: Complete the Application
Complete the using DocuSign. Be sure to sign and date the form to verify that the information is valid and accurate. All applications are treated as confidential. - Step Two: Attach Documentation
Attach a copy of any additional documentation through DocuSign. Other documentation may be requested during the application process. - Step Three: Submit Application
Submit your completed application with the attached documents. All materials — the application and attachments — must be submitted through DocuSign. - Step Four: Redact Information
Once your application is received, People Excellence will redact personal information to support a non-biased blind committee review. - Step Five: Review Application
Elected members of Staff Senate and other department staff will head the RSEF Committee Review Board. This committee will review the redacted application and determine if the RSEF application is approved or denied. - Step Six: Notification of Approval or Denial
The RSEF Committee will submit a decision to People Excellence within 10 days of receiving the application and additional documentation. Staff members will be notified by People Excellence of their application status and will receive an email with the committee’s decision for approval or denial. The application will be sent to People Excellence for filing. - Step Seven: Disbursement of Funds
If approved, the applicant will be notified by Payroll. If direct deposit is set up, funds will be deposited in the applicant’s account. Otherwise, a check will be available for pickup from Payroll.
