OneDrive is approved for Category I, II, and III data and is HIPAA and FERPA compliant. 

Users can access OneDrive in three different ways: by web browser, by desktop app, and by mobile app. 

Web Browser: To open OneDrive on any web browser, visit and click the squares in the top right corner to select OneDrive.  

Note: Users may enjoy using some of the more advanced features Microsoft offers in the "My Content" section of the Office Portal. This page still allows you to access OneDrive files but offers expanded search options and other useful filters.

Desktop Application: 

If you have a UTSA-issued PC, OneDrive has been installed automatically. If you are using a personal PC, you can install OneDrive for Business by visiting and clicking the "Install and more" button in the top right corner. 

If OneDrive is installed, you can get to your OneDrive anytime by opening any folder or File Explorer.

Mobile App: 

To install OneDrive for Business on your smartphone, navigate to the OneDrive app in the or

There are several methods for uploading/saving files to OneDrive for Business, including via supported web browser and the OneDrive desktop application. 

PC: 

If you already have OneDrive installed, uploading files from your PC is as easy as opening File Explorer, navigating to the file you'd like to upload, and dragging and dropping it into your OneDrive - University of Texas at San Antonio. 

You can also save files to your OneDrive from any Microsoft product by choosing File > Save As and selecting your OneDrive - University of Texas at San Antonio

If you are using a personal PC that does not have OneDrive installed (this is very unlikely), visit , sign in with your UTSA credentials, and click the "Install and more" button in the top right corner.

Web Browser:

To upload files via web browser, visit , sign in with your UTSA credentials, and click the squares in the top left corner to find the OneDrive icon. Select it, and then click the "Add New" button in the top left. Select "Files upload" or "Folder upload" and choose your files. 

When you use a UTSA-issued PC, all of the contents of the Documents, Pictures, and Desktop folders automatically sync via OneDrive across all computers you log in to and use. 

If you prefer that a file not be synced across devices, please ensure that it is not saved in those folders or in any folder in your OneDrive.
