Social Engineering is a form of cyberattack that uses acts of deception to exploit individuals and entities for their personal information. These attacks can expose sensitive information, like social security numbers, credit card numbers, and lead data breaches that can expose personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI).

Right now, 33% of data breaches are caused by Social Engineering. Using these techniques, attackers can easily influence or manipulate victims into giving up information or give unauthorized access to information. Most social engineers exploit people’s willingness to be helpful.
